AIT Atlas — Operations Platform
The right engineer at the right school. Every time.
Great school IT support isn’t luck — it’s logistics. AIT Atlas is the operations platform we built to run our own business: every rota, every van, every relationship and every member of our 75-strong team, coordinated in one place so that support, installations and connectivity land at your school exactly when they should.
Navigate. Manage. Deliver.
Atlas is included in how we work — it is not a product we sell, and there is nothing extra to buy.

Support first. Software as proof.
We are a school IT support provider first and always: helpdesk support, on-site engineering, installations and infrastructure projects, and broadband and connectivity for schools and trusts across the UK. But delivering that well to 249 schools takes more than good intentions — it takes serious operational machinery.
Off-the-shelf field-service tools were built for boiler repairs and telecoms, not for term dates, safeguarding requirements and the rhythm of a school year. So we built our own. AIT Atlas manages our people, projects, schools and technology operations in a single platform — CRM, Rota, Fleet and HR working together — so nothing about your service is left to a whiteboard, a spreadsheet or somebody’s memory.
You’ll never log into Atlas, and you’ll never pay for it. You’ll simply feel it: the engineer who arrives on the day you were told, already briefed on your site, your systems and your history with us. Like AIT Horizon, Helpdesk Reporting and AIT Ordering, Atlas is included with our service, not sold on top.

One platform. Four engines.
Rota: the right person, the right day
Every scheduled visit, project milestone and emergency callout across every school we support is planned in Atlas Rota. It matches the job to the engineer — skills, site familiarity, travel time and workload — so a wireless survey gets a wireless specialist and your regular support day gets a face your staff already know. When a priority incident lands, the rota flexes in minutes, not mornings.
Fleet: engineers who arrive equipped
Atlas Fleet tracks our vans, kit and spares, so an engineer heading to your school carries what the job actually needs — the right switches, access points, cables and loan devices — instead of promising a second visit. Fewer return trips means faster fixes and less disruption to teaching.
CRM: your school’s whole story in one place
Atlas CRM holds the operational record of every school and trust relationship we have: sites, contacts, contracts, site notes, access arrangements, past projects and preferences. Whoever picks up your job — on the phone or at your gate — starts with the full picture, not a blank screen.
HR: a properly run team behind your service
Atlas HR looks after the people who look after you: training records, certifications, DBS status, wellbeing and development for our whole team. It’s how we make sure everyone we send into a school is qualified, checked and current — and it’s part of why good engineers build careers with us rather than passing through.
Four lenses on one operation
Atlas isn’t four separate tools bolted together — it’s one platform with four views of the same operation:
- People — who is where, doing what, with which skills and clearances.
- Projects — every installation, migration and summer-works programme broken into milestones, owners and dependencies.
- Schools — every site we serve, with its history, kit, contacts and open work.
- Technology — the equipment, vehicles and tooling our service runs on.
When those four views agree, the service you experience is calm and predictable. A summer network refresh, for example, is planned in Atlas months ahead: the project view holds the milestones, the people view reserves the right engineers for the holiday window, the schools view carries your site access notes, and the technology view makes sure the vans roll out loaded. That’s what “Navigate. Manage. Deliver.” means in practice.

You don’t see Atlas. You see the difference.
Continuity, not roulette.
Rota planning favours site familiarity, so your school sees consistent faces who know your building, your MIS and your quirks — without you ever having to re-explain them.
Visits that happen when we said they would.
Scheduling, travel and kit are resolved before we confirm a date, so a confirmed date is a kept date.
Projects that respect term time.
Disruptive work is planned around holidays and exam windows as standard, because our project engine thinks in school calendars, not just weeks. Work funded through programmes like DfE Connect the Classroom is scheduled the same way.
Safeguarding taken seriously on our side of the fence.
DBS checks and training currency are tracked in Atlas HR for every team member who sets foot on a school site — evidence available whenever your policies require it.
Scale without the call centre feeling.
Atlas is how a 75-strong team supports 249 schools and 20 trusts UK-wide while still feeling like your school’s own IT department.
The engine room behind your dashboards
Atlas is the one platform in our family that works for you without you touching it. The other three are yours to use — all through the Customer Portal — and Atlas quietly feeds them all.
AIT Horizon — leadership’s view of what Atlas delivers.
When your AIT Horizon strategy roadmap says a hardware refresh lands next summer, it’s Atlas that turns that line into a real project — engineers reserved, milestones set, kit staged. Horizon’s IT Finance module shows your leadership team the 5-year projection and the refresh cycle; Atlas is how the work behind those numbers actually gets scheduled and done, and Horizon’s RAG compliance tracker stays honest because the delivery underneath it is real. (Example refresh cycle shown in Horizon: illustrative.)

Helpdesk Reporting — the results, in the open.
Our Helpdesk Reporting platform gives your leaders the Executive overview and KPI Insights on how your support is performing, with per-trust filters for MAT teams. Well-run operations are what make those KPIs worth publishing — Atlas gets the right engineer to the right ticket, and Reporting shows you the outcome. The figures on this website are illustrative; your own reporting lives in the platform.

AIT Ordering — procurement that lands as a delivery, not a mystery.
When you approve a quote in AIT Ordering, the journey from PO to delivery is tracked for you — and on our side, Atlas schedules the hands that install what arrives. Order thirty devices through the catalogue and the rota already has the imaging and rollout visit pencilled in before the boxes hit your office.

Why in-house matters
Since 2000, we’ve done one thing: IT for education. Atlas encodes twenty-plus years of that experience — term-aware scheduling, safeguarding-conscious HR, school-by-school memory — into software no generic MSP can buy off a shelf. It’s the same in-house engineering culture that built Horizon, Helpdesk Reporting and Ordering, applied to our own operations first.
That matters when you’re choosing a partner: a provider that can build and run its own operations platform is a provider that can be trusted with your network, your cloud and your security. It’s also a genuinely good place to work — Atlas is a big part of how our team works day to day, and a well-run team is the foundation of well-run schools.

Atlas, answered
No — and that’s the point. Atlas is our internal operations platform, and its full value comes bundled into the service you already pay for. You benefit from it on every ticket, visit and project without licences, modules or add-on fees. The platforms you do get direct access to — AIT Horizon, Helpdesk Reporting and AIT Ordering — are also included with our service, not sold on top, and all live behind one Customer Portal login.
Atlas holds the operational information we need to serve you well: site details, contacts, access arrangements, equipment records and the history of work we’ve done for you. It does not hold pupil data. Everything is processed in line with UK GDPR and our privacy policy, under the same ISO 27001-aligned controls that govern the rest of our business.
Direction of view. Horizon looks outward to your leadership team — Executive, Schools and Support views, IT Finance with 5-year projections, the RAG compliance tracker, policies and your strategy roadmap. Atlas looks inward at our own operation: the people, projects, schools and technology ops that turn Horizon’s roadmap into completed work. Horizon tells you where you’re going; Atlas is how we get you there.
You’ll notice it most in what doesn’t happen: no engineer arriving without the right part, no re-explaining your site to a stranger, no summer project drifting into September. As an illustration, a typical support day is rostered with site familiarity as a priority, and project kit is checked out to the van before the visit is confirmed — small operational disciplines that add up to a service that just works.
Our education team, any time — call 0115 9170 197 or get in touch. We support primary schools, secondary schools, multi-academy trusts and independent schools across the UK.
Machinery you never see. Service you always feel.
249 schools. 20 trusts. One operations platform making sure every one of them gets the right engineer at the right time. If that’s the kind of IT partner your school or trust is looking for, let’s talk.
