Case studies: school IT support that delivers

Every school we support has a story — the helpdesk that finally answers, the summer works that finished on time, the broadband that stopped dropping out during assessments. This is where we tell those stories properly: what the school needed, what we did, and what changed.

We're an education-only managed service provider supporting 249 schools and 20 trusts across the UK, with a 75-strong team and a track record going back to 2000. Our first fully approved case studies are being finalised with the schools and trusts involved right now — and because we never publish a school's story without its written sign-off, we'd rather show you an honest "coming soon" than a wall of vague claims.

Speak to our team or call 0115 9170 197 — if you'd rather hear it first-hand, we'll happily arrange a reference conversation with a school like yours.

First case studies: in production now

Three studies are currently in the approval process with the schools and trusts they describe. Each will name no individuals and will only identify the school in whatever way it has approved. They'll appear here the moment sign-off lands.

A primary school partnership — IT support and safeguarding

(in production)

How a one-form-entry primary went from firefighting IT to a settled routine of proactive visits, reliable day-to-day support and filtering and monitoring that stands up to inspection.

A secondary school rebuild — infrastructure and connectivity

(in production)

A whole-site refresh delivered over a summer: structured cabling and wireless, new core switching, and dedicated schools broadband — live for the first day of term.

A multi-academy trust centralisation — one provider, every school

(in production)

How a growing trust consolidated fragmented local arrangements into one trust-wide IT service, with consistent standards, central visibility and a single number to call.

What our case studies cover

Our case studies are built around the work schools actually buy us for — support, installations and connectivity first, everything else in service of them:

Managed IT support

helpdesk, on-site technician days and proactive maintenance for primary, secondary and independent schools, and trust-wide services for MATs. See how our support service works.

Installations and infrastructure

cabling, wireless and network projects delivered around the school year, including DfE Connect the Classroom upgrades.

Connectivity

broadband built for schools, with filtering appropriate to education and failover that keeps a school working.

Safeguarding and security

If you want to know what "good" looks like for a school your size before the full studies publish, talk to us — we'll walk you through a comparable engagement step by step.

In their words

While the full case studies complete their sign-off, here's what the people who run our schools and trusts already say publicly. Attributions are exactly as each contributor approved them for publication — we never add names or school identities beyond that.

"Above and beyond"

"Our Trust have worked with AIT for almost ten years. In that time we have developed a trusting relationship, and they are continually looking for ways in which to improve the service to our schools. As their team have grown, so have their capabilities, but they have never lost that personal approach which is what separates them from counterparts. If you're looking for a provider who can really deliver…look no further than AIT!"

— J Haigh

"They just get it"

"AIT really 'get it'. I know that sounds cliché but anything we try and articulate they put into action. I really respect their transparent approach, and they always do everything to ensure we get the very best in price, service and products."

— A Mullahy, School Business Manager

"Made a real impact"

"We have worked with AIT since 2018 and they have helped us in the centralisation of our IT and Telecommunication services. AIT staff are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient at all levels and really have made an impact to our MAT."

— M Premdjy, Director

"5 Years & Counting"

"For the past 5 years Advanced IT Services have provided exceptional service. We've used them as a complete end-to-end provider from IT support to broadband & filtering –the team have always been on hand to help with anything we need. I cannot recommend them enough, the support team are always there night or day and it's a pleasure working with them!"

— M Wenham, School Business Manager

"We love our technician visits!"

"It's always such a joy when our AIT tech visits! He's really part of the team and my staff always know that whatever they need will get resolved. It's nice to have that relationship develop and push new initiatives which go beyond support."

— K Yoxall, School Business Manager

"'High Standards Always'"

"AIT were a name which cropped up when we were in the initial phases of looking for a managed service provider. Our requirements were quite niche and we needed to work with an agile supplier who would be able to react quickly but facilitate the high standards we needed to achieve. I'm thrilled with the progress so far and look forward to many more years to come!"

— S. Mitchell, CEO

Included with our service, not sold on top

One thing every future case study will have in common: the school or trust involved runs its partnership with us through our own platforms — AIT Horizon for leadership oversight, Helpdesk Reporting for support transparency, AIT Atlas for how our own team plans and delivers the work, and AIT Ordering for procurement from quote to delivery. They're part of the service every client gets, not products we sell on top — and existing clients reach them all through one login at the Customer Portal.

How we report results

A case study is only useful if you can trust it, so here's how we handle the numbers:

Static and agreed, never live. Any figure you see in an AIT case study — response times, project timescales, cost comparisons — is an illustrative snapshot from the period the study describes, agreed with the school before publication. We don't pipe live performance data into marketing pages, and we never will.

Published with permission. Every case study is published with the school's or trust's permission, and the testimonials on this page appear as they were originally published on our site. In education, that's not caution — it's basic safeguarding respect.

Grounded in a published standard. Every study describes work delivered against the same ticket priorities and service standards we publish for all clients, so you can compare like with like when you evaluate us.

Your school could be next

Whether you're a single primary school or a trust of twenty schools, the first step is the same: a conversation about where your IT is now and where it's letting you down.

Frequently asked questions

Because we don't publish anything about a school without its written approval, and many schools prefer to be described rather than named — for safeguarding reasons as much as commercial ones. Each case study identifies the school only in the way it has signed off: sometimes by name, sometimes as "a two-form-entry primary" or "a 14-school trust". Where a name does appear, it's because that school explicitly agreed to it. The testimonials on this page carry exactly the attributions their authors approved for publication, and nothing more.

Yes. We support 249 schools and 20 multi-academy trusts UK-wide, from single-site primaries to large trusts, backed by a 75-strong team and our own service infrastructure. Wherever your school is, the service model is the same: a helpdesk that knows your school, scheduled technician time, and engineers who deliver installations and connectivity around the school calendar.

No — and that's deliberate. Every number in a case study is a static, illustrative snapshot from the period the study covers, agreed with the school before publication. Live service data belongs in your service reviews, not on a marketing page. What we publish instead is the standard we commit to for everyone: see our ticket priorities.

Absolutely — and honestly, we'd encourage it. Tell us your phase, size and situation (a primary considering its first managed service, a trust centralising IT, an independent school planning a rebuild) and we'll arrange a reference conversation with a comparable client, with their permission. Contact us or call 0115 9170 197 to set one up.

We'd love that. Speak to your account contact or get in touch, and we'll draft the story with you: you approve every word, every figure and exactly how your school is identified before anything goes near this page. You can also withdraw or amend a published study at any time.
