AV & Interactive Screens for Schools

Interactive panels in every classroom, sound and projection your main hall deserves, and digital signage that keeps your whole community informed. We survey, supply, install and support school AV across the UK — as part of the same service that runs your network, your devices and your helpdesk.

One team from first site survey to the day-to-day support call. No third-party installers, no finger-pointing between suppliers.

Classroom, hall and corridor — covered

School AV fails in predictable places: panels bought without the network to drive them, hall systems installed by generalists who have never mic'd a nativity, signage screens that go blank the week nobody remembers the login. Because we run school IT end to end, every AV project we deliver is designed around your infrastructure, your safeguarding policies and your timetable — not around a product a reseller needed to shift.

Interactive panels

Interactive touchscreens for classrooms, from single-room replacements to whole-school rollouts. We advise on panel size and mounting height by room, handle wall-strengthening and trunking, migrate your teaching software and lesson files, and train staff so the panel gets used — not just switched on.

Part of our wider school IT installations service.

Hall & performance AV

Projection, LED walls, PA and mixing, stage lighting control and hearing-support systems for main halls, sports halls and theatres. Designed for the real school calendar: assemblies every morning, a musical in December, exams in June.

Part of our wider school IT installations service.

Digital signage

Reception welcome screens, corridor displays, staffroom dashboards and menu boards — centrally managed, remotely updated, and locked down so only the right people can publish to them.

Interactive panels that teachers actually use

An interactive panel is the most-used piece of technology in a classroom — and the most disruptive when it fails. We plan panel projects the way we plan any critical infrastructure.

Every project starts with a room-by-room survey. We check wall construction, sight lines, glare, existing cabling and power, and how each room is really taught in. Then we specify the right panel for the room rather than one model for the whole school, and quote installation honestly — including the trunking, data cabling and electrical work that panel-only quotes conveniently leave out.

On installation day our engineers remove and responsibly recycle old boards and projectors, make good the walls, mount and commission each panel, and connect it to your network and screen-sharing platform. Before we leave, every panel is tested against a signed checklist: touch accuracy, audio, casting from staff devices, and remote-management enrolment so we can push updates and monitor health without interrupting lessons.

Because panels join the same managed estate as your desktops and devices, a fault is just a helpdesk ticket — logged with the same team on 0115 9170 197, covered by the same support agreement, not a separate warranty maze.

Panels are supported under your existing agreement — AV support is included with our service, not sold on top.

Hall AV built for assemblies, shows and exam season

A school hall works harder than most commercial venues. Monday it's an assembly space, Wednesday it's a sports hall, Friday it's a theatre, and for six weeks a year it's an exam room that must be silent and glare-free. We design hall systems around that reality.

Typical projects include high-brightness laser projection or LED video walls sized to your throw distances and ambient light; column-array or distributed PA tuned to the room so speech stays intelligible at the back row; wireless microphone systems with simple, labelled presets staff can run without a technician; induction loops and hearing-support coverage; and control simplified down to a wall panel or tablet — one button for "assembly", one for "performance", one for "off".

We install during holidays and after school wherever the work is disruptive, and we commission with your staff in the room: by handover, the people who run Monday's assembly have already run one on the new system.

Every hall system is documented and supported by the same UK-wide team that answers your everyday IT tickets.

Digital signage your office can update in minutes

Signage projects fail at the software, not the screen. Our installations pair commercial-grade displays — bright enough for reception glazing, rated for all-day use — with a central management platform your office staff can drive: publish a notice to every corridor screen from one dashboard, schedule menu changes by day, and push an instant message to all displays when plans change.

We configure role-based publishing so signage stays on-message, and every screen is enrolled in remote monitoring — if a display drops offline over a weekend, it's flagged for our team before Monday's parents walk past a blank screen. Content templates are set up in your school's branding at handover, so the system looks right from day one.

Signage screens are often installed alongside CCTV and access control upgrades — one visit, one contractor, one set of paperwork.

A project you can see, not chase

AV projects go wrong through coordination, not kit: deliveries that miss the holiday window, installers who turn up before the electrician, snagging lists that live in someone's inbox. Ours run differently, because every AITN project is managed in AIT Atlas — the operations platform our own team runs on. Navigate. Manage. Deliver.

1

Survey & design

An engineer surveys your rooms and we produce a written design and fixed quote. The project is created in Atlas from day one, linked to your school's record, so nothing about your site — access arrangements, safeguarding requirements, existing cabling plans — gets lost between visits.

2

Scheduling

Atlas's rota scheduling books the right engineers with the right accreditations against your term dates, and its fleet management gets kit and crews to site together. If your head says "it must be done by the first INSET day", that date is what the whole project is planned backwards from.

3

Installation

Engineers work from the project plan in Atlas, checking off each room as it's commissioned. Your project contact gets a clear picture of progress — for an illustrative 12-classroom panel rollout, that's a room-by-room status rather than a vague "nearly there".

4

Snagging & handover

Snags are logged as project tasks, not emails, and the project isn't closed until they are. At handover you receive the as-built documentation, and every installed asset passes into your supported estate.

AIT Atlas

Navigate. Manage. Deliver.

AIT Atlas is how we run our people, projects, schools and technology operations — engineer rotas, fleet, and every project milestone in one place. You don't buy it — you feel it in installs that land on the date we agreed, and existing clients can follow along via the Customer Portal. Included with our service, not sold on top.

AIT Ordering

From quote to delivery, tracked

AV hardware is a significant spend — an illustrative 20-panel rollout can be a five-figure commitment — and most schools order it through a fog of emailed quotes and "it's with the courier" phone calls. Our clients use AIT Ordering instead.

Your quote lives in Ordering from the moment we issue it. When your business manager approves, it converts to a purchase order in the same thread — no re-keying, no lost attachments — and you can track every line from PO to delivery: panels dispatched, mounts arrived, install kit allocated. The catalogue gives you education-appropriate hardware at our negotiated pricing, and because our supplier management sits behind it, we chase late deliveries so your office doesn't have to.

For multi-academy trusts, central teams see procurement across every school in one place — useful when you're standardising panels trust-wide and need to evidence a consistent, competitive process.

AIT Ordering is included for every supported school. It's part of the service — never an extra line on the invoice.

Planning a wider refresh? Ordering also powers our device procurement & leasing service.

The difference a full-service IT partner makes

Most AV resellers hand you a warranty card and a goodbye. We hand you a helpdesk number you already know.

One support route

Panel frozen, hall amp silent, signage screen blank — it's a ticket to the same UK-wide team that supports your whole IT estate, on 0115 9170 197.

Proactive monitoring

Networked panels and signage players are monitored like any other device, so many faults are fixed before a teacher notices.

Designed with your network in mind

Casting, panel management and signage traffic are planned against your actual wireless network and switching — not bolted onto whatever's there.

Standards-aligned

Installations are delivered in line with the DfE's technology standards for schools, the same standards behind our Connect the Classroom work.

Training that sticks

Staff CPD at handover, plus refreshers for new starters at your request — because an unused panel is the most expensive whiteboard you'll ever buy.

AV & interactive screens — your questions answered

It depends on the room, which is why we survey before we quote. As an illustrative guide, a typical primary classroom suits a 65"–75" panel, while larger secondary rooms and open teaching spaces usually need 75"–86" so pupils at the back can read comfortably. Viewing distance, mounting height, window glare and wall construction all change the recommendation — a survey costs you nothing and prevents an expensive wrong guess.

Yes, with planning. Classroom panel swaps are usually sequenced so each room is out of action for hours, not days, and noisy or disruptive work — hall rigging, corridor trunking, wall strengthening — is booked into holidays, weekends or after-school windows. Because our engineers are scheduled through AIT Atlas against your term dates, the plan is built around your calendar from the start, and safeguarding requirements such as DBS-checked engineers and sign-in procedures are standard on every visit.

We remove them as part of the installation, make good the walls behind them, and dispose of the old equipment through WEEE-compliant recycling, with documentation for your records. Where older hardware still has genuine life in it, we'll tell you — sometimes a projector is worth redeploying to a meeting room rather than scrapping.

No — but most schools choose to, because AIT Ordering gives you a tracked quote-to-PO-to-delivery trail, education pricing from our catalogue, and one accountable supplier if anything arrives damaged or late. If your trust has an existing procurement route or framework, we'll work within it and simply deliver the design, installation and ongoing support.

For supported schools, yes. Panels, hall systems and signage installed by us join your managed estate, so faults are raised through the same helpdesk as any other IT issue and covered under your agreement. That's the point of a full-service partner: our platforms and our AV expertise are included with the service, not sold on top.
