How to access my device name

Accessing your device name can help our technicians support you more efficiently and carry out any actions remotely.

Windows 11 (If not logged on)

From a login screen type .\ in the username field. The computer name will be displayed.

Windows 11 (If logged in)

  1. Right click on the Start menu and open Settings

  2. Select System

  3. Scroll down to About

  4. The Service Tag will be identified under Device name

From the Outside of the Device

If your device is an AIT set up device, there will be an AIT asset sticker with your device name.

Finding the Computer Name for a Mac

You can find the name or serial number of your Mac on the informational page for your computer or by looking at the back of the device.

Serial numbers are 10-13 characters, depending on the model year of the device.

From Within the Operating System Mac

  1. Click on the Apple logo in the top left corner.

  2. Select About This Mac. Note the serial number listed.
